The Rizqun International and The Centrepoint Hotels have been nominated Preferred Hotels of the sixth edition of the Royal Trophy, to be held on 14-16 December in the Sultanate of Brunei.

“The Royal Trophy has rapidly grown into one of the world’s most important sporting events and is clearly established as the golf tourism highlight of the year for the Asian Continent,” stated Lincoln Venancio, the Royal Trophy Managing Director.

“We are very pleased to partner with The Rizqun International and The Centrepoint Hotels in welcoming the great numbers of visitors attending the magnificent series of Royal Trophy Matches to be played between the powerful Continents of Asia and Europe,” added Lincoln Venancio.

“We are delighted that such a prestigious Event as the Royal Trophy will be hosted in our Kingdom, and we feel honored to support it as Preferred Hotels,” stated Siti Rashidah Hassan, Director of Operations, ARH Group of Hotels.

“We are sincerely looking forward to warmly welcoming the visitors from throughout Asia, Europe and the world to enjoy a magnificent stay in our beautiful Nation. We are confident that the visitors will have an unforgettable experience as they visit Brunei’s majestic landmarks, monumental natural treasures, and witness the passionate matches played between Asia’s and Europe’s leading golfers,” said Siti Rashidah Hassan.

“Our Sultanate has such a wealth of magnificent experiences to offer visitors, from the Ulu Temburong National Park and Bukit Shah Bandar – both remarkable adventure and nature sites, to the Royal Regalia Building, and to the Kampong Ayer – the world’s largest water village. Our Nation’s hosting of the Royal Trophy provides a truly compelling opportunity for visitors to enjoy a remarkable weekend of golf and witness the wonders of this majestic land which at present still remains seventy per cent covered in untouched rainforest,” added Siti Rashidah Hassan.

Conveniently located in the heart of Brunei’s retail and entertainment district, Gadong, The Rizqun International Hotel and The Centrepoint Hotel are only a ten minute drive away from the Brunei International Airport and the capital city Bandar Seri Begawan.

Featuring an exclusive Premier Club Floor which showcases ultimate first-class hospitality, The Rizqun International Hotel is truly a magnificent haven for discerning guests. All Premier Club Floor rooms include complimentary access to the Premier Club Lounge, Continental Breakfast daily, hors d’oeuvres and beverages in the evening, in-room broadband internet access, select use of meeting rooms and fruit baskets.

The Centrepoint Hotel provides a wide array of dining and entertainment choices including restaurants serving authentic local and western cuisines, spicy Sichuan delicacies, contemporary Italian selections and for coffee lovers – The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf. The Hotel also features its own Shopping Arcade, swimming pool, gym, and badminton and tennis courts.

The Royal Trophy is a unique and emotionally-charged Championship which brings Asia together under one team, promotes friendship and cooperation between the Nations of Europe and Asia and provides a powerful sporting inspiration to the youth. The Competition is comprised of a series of sixteen matches with the elite golfers of Europe and Asia battling for the pride, glory and honour of their respective Continents.

“We expect record numbers of international spectators and media to travel to the Sultanate of Brunei for the historic sixth edition of the Royal Trophy and we look forward to a most exciting Competition,” concluded Lincoln Venancio.

The Royal Trophy originated in concert with the vision of the late legendary five-time Major winner; the late Seve Ballesteros, who dreamt to gift the Asian Continent with the same golf growth impetus the European Continent experienced in the 1980s and 1990s as a result of the Ryder Cup.

The prestigious and highly-competitive team match-play Continental Championship will once again feature eight players and a captain representing Asia and Europe respectively.

The hosting of the Royal Trophy in the Sultanate of Brunei offers golf fans an once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to experience the wonders of this majestic land set amidst the monumental Borneo rainforest and the pristine South China Sea.
