Powerful and precise hits in the eighth and eighteenth rounds led the sport celeb to success: she scored 67 points, therefore the victory was obtained with a total score of 15 below par, four strokes ahead of the other participant, Sweden’s Maya Stark, who scored only 66.
Later Chiganda admitted that she was so happy to become the leader in the tournament, because the woman adores Spain, and, of course, was very pleased to win the Open Championship there.
Also Carlota was surprised with the way she was performing, as it was really ‘great golf’.
Though her leadership was evident, the sportswoman said it was pretty tough to keep the result on the last nine holes, as the weather was a little windy.
